In a hard fought contest down to the wire, Sierra Foothills prevailed 25-24 over the South Bay Spartans. Congratulations on a perfect season gentlemen! Nice send-off for Coach Doug.

There will be a solar annular eclipse Sunday evening. In the Auburn area, the moon will begin passing between Earth and the Sun around 5:15 PM, obscuring roughly 87% of the Sun at its maximum around 6:30 PM.
Auburn isn’t quite far enough north to see the full ring effect of a solar annular eclipse. However, the Magorian home is only about 2 miles south of the boundary of where the ring effect can be seen. The further north you go, the longer the ring will be visible. At Combie Rd & Hwy 49 near Lake of the Pines, the full annular solar eclipse will be visible for about 50 seconds, while Grass Valley viewers will be able to see it for nearly 2 1/2 minutes.
Come out for the BBQ and awards, enjoy a great afternoon and wrap it all up with an eclipse!

Sunday May 20th from 12pm to 4pm is our annual club Awards Ceremony and End of Season BBQ! Please join us in thanking our coaches for their tireless dedication, our parents for showing us what support is all about, our sponsors for making the ends meet, but mostly, our players – for without you there is no club.
Apparel will be on sale, so come and get it before it is packed away for the season.
Thank you to the Magorian family for hosting! Bring your swimsuits and beach chairs. Facilities include a pool, tennis court and room for a scrimmage match! Per Don and Heidi Magorian, families are encouraged to arrive early and stay late. 12-4PM is just the “official” schedule. We’ll be cooking and setting up from mid-morning on.

Congratulations to 2 members of our girls team, Gracey and Sierra. They are among the 60 girls in northern California who’ve made the Northern California Select Team. Players for this elite squad are chosen based on athletic ability, fitness, rugby knowledge and camp performance.
The NorCal Selects will assemble at Stanford University on May 27th for a training session and 2 intrasquad matches. Final selections for the U19 and U17 Northern California All-Star teams will be based on performance at Stanford. The Northern California All-Star Teams will compete at tournaments in Idaho and Oregon in June.
Congratulations again Gracey and SiSi. You’ve earned this recognition. As always, go SFRC!
